Clare Fire Brigades Responded To Over 1000 Emergency Calls Last Year

Clare’s fire service responded to over 1000 emergency call-outs last year.

New figures show that this county’s personnel took less than ten minutes to arrive at the scene in the majority of cases.

Clare’s fire crews responded to a total of 1,012 emergency call outs in 2022.

The busiest month of the year was February when one hundred such incidents were reported to the authorities.

Clare is currently serviced by 76 firefighters across stations in Ennis, Kilkee, Ennistymon, Kilrush, Scariff, Killaloe and Shannon.

Of the crew members here, 54 are classed as retained and on average the county’s on-call personnel had the third quickest mobilisation time of any part-time fire service in the country last year at 4 minutes and 51 seconds.

Additionally, Clare’s units arrived at the scene of an emergency incident in less than ten minutes on 42% of all call outs.

Over the twelve months, the Department also granted 89 fire safety certificates and 73 certs for disability access.
