Clare’s Fine Gael TD believes politics now ‘needs to move on’ from the resignation of Minister of State Damien English.
The Junior Minister at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment has stepped down following reports he failed to declare details of a 2008 planning application relating to a property in County Meath.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he agreed with Mr English’s view that his position was no longer tenable.
Clarecastle-based Fine Gael TD Joe Carey, who’s understood to be in the frame to fill the vacant role, has been telling Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville that Damien English did not meet the standards required of public office.
