Clare Fianna Fáil Members Form Coalition Against Party Strategy

Grassroots Fianna Fáil members in Clare have formed a coalition against the party’s election strategy for the county.

They have come together against what they’ve labelled the undemocratic strategy planned for this Thursday’s convention.

One East Clare and one West Clare candidate will be chosen, with John Hillery and Rita McInerney to battle it out in the west.

Sitting TD Timmy Dooley is running unopposed in the East.

Councillor Cathal Crowe withdrew his name when it emerged he’d be pitted against Deputy Dooley and Ennis man Michael Neylon, a former director of elections for the party who is part of the new group, says people in the East are being prevented from voting.
