Clare Fianna Fáil Councillor expects the party members here to have free reign to support whoever they want as our next President.
That’s despite party leader Micheál Martin saying Michael D Higgins will have the support of its members.
Fine Gael and Labour also appear to be supporting the incumbent president for re-election this November, while only Sinn Féin have hinted at entering a candidate of their own.
