Clare Fianna Fáil candidate Michael Mc Donagh has hit out at what he believes was a mistake in the party's election strategy.
However the County Board Chairman insists he's fully committed to Fianna Fáil as he prepares to run for the party in the general election.
Mr McDonagh has been speaking amid reports that he, and other party members, have been unhappy at the two month delay in approaching Clare Colleran Molloy to run for Fianna Fail in the general election.
Meanwhile, he's also calling for additional resources for Clare Gardaí in the budget and he's been telling me that he wouldn't stand for cuts to resources, if his party was elected into Government.
