Clare Farmers ‘At Wits End’ With Rural Crime

It’s claimed farmers in Clare are “at their wits end” in their attempts to deal with rural crime.
They’re among hundreds of farmers nationwide who have been surveyed as part of a study examining criminal activity in Irish communities.
Research carried out on behalf of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association, has found that two thirds of farmers have been a victim of crime, while, rural communities believe the judicial system “provides virtually no deterrent”.
