Clare farmers warned not to expect price increases in 2012

Clare farmers have been warned not to expect a continued in growth in commodity prices in 2012.

Despite a reasonably strong 2011 for the agricultural sector here, farmers are being warned that price growth will likely slow somewhat this year, while uncertainty in the Eurozone may also have an impact.

The IFA is to hold a meeting on the outlook for the year ahead this Wednesday night at the Auburn Lodge Hotel, getting underway at 8:00.

The Association’s Chief Economist Rowena Dwyer has told Clare FM that while the year ahead is set to be satisfactory, growth in the sector will slow
