The Clare Chair of the Irish Farmers Association is urging farmers in this county to have their say in ensuring the higher CAP payment rate is kept in place.

The government is inviting members of the public to submit their opinions on CAP post-2020 – amid uncertainty about whether the higher EU rate will be kept in place once the UK exits the EU.

The first of a series of public meetings by the Department of Agriculture was held last evening, which five more planned between now and February 21st.
