Clare farmers are set to form part of a large crowd who will voice their concerns about the ongoing CAP reform negotiations.
The European Commission wants to move its single farm payment system from a method based on how much farmers produce to one based on a flat payment for each hectare.
However, the IFA say this would severely penalise active farmers and could see some lost up to 40% of the vital annual payment.
The association has organised a protest at the offices of Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney today.
President John Bryan has told Clare FM’s Farm Focus that the changes could potentially be devastating for large numbers of farmers in the county.
