Clare Farmers Struggling To Cope Amid Severe Labour Shortage

It’s claimed Clare farms are struggling to cope amid a severe labour shortage this calving season.

Across the MidWest region, the number of people working on a farm with livestock has fallen by over 10%.

Clare still has the fourth and fifth highest totals of specialist beef and dairy farms respectively nationwide and last year, only 500 work permits were taken up for farming throughout the country.
