Clare Farmers Receive Funding

Over 350 Clare farmers are to receive funding under the next stage of the latest round of funding for the scheme which has replaced REPS.

Figures released to the Dail by the Department of Agriculture show 357 people who applied for round three of AEOS have been accepted into the program, beginning last month.

These farmers will now receive payments provided they undertake and meet a number of obligations aimed at protecting the environment and natural heritage.

However, a number of farmers here are still awaiting payments under this program.

Separate figures show 98 farmers, who were accepted into Phases 1 and 2 of the Scheme, are still waiting for moneys, with some of those first entering the program two years ago.
