Clare farmers are hitting out at the Department of Agriculture for publishing details outlining EU grants paid to farmers online.
The figures which have been published following an EU directive allows members of the public to see how much has been paid to individual farmers.
Clare farmers shared over 47 million euro in Single Payments last year.
The average single payment to a Clare farmer was worth just under 8,000 however figures available online show that one farmer received over one hundred thousand euro.
The Department of Agriculture says it is obliged under new EU rules to publish the details as a transparency measure but the Irish Farmers Association says it's a breach of confidentiality.
Farmers on the ground have also expressed anger that their details are now available for one and all to see.
Doonbeg's John Flanagan told Clare FM's Morning Focus that he can't see the sense in publishing the details.
