Clare Farmers Hailing End Of Year Price Upturns

Clare farmers are hailing an upturn in prices for dairy produce heading into the tail end of the year.

New CSO figures show the average price paid to farmers for milk in October was 64c per litre, which is the highest point its reached this year and a 46% increase within the last twelve months.

In the same timeframe, agricultural input prices fell by 7% across the board.

Clare IFA Chair Stephen Walsh says it’s especially welcome given the challenging year farmers have put down.
