A South East Clare farmer says farmers are ‘genuinely concerned’ about the consequences of possible blackouts on their livestock and products.
It comes amid further massive price increases announced by SSE Airtricity, with other major providers expected to follow.
Energy Minister Eamon Ryan insists supply won’t be an issue this winter, though is expected to be grilled around the possibility of blackouts when the Oireachtas Climate Action Committee meets tomorrow.
Kilmurry McMahon farmer and Chair of the Independent Farmers of Ireland group, Seamus Shannon, says he does not have confidence in the Minister to alleviate farmers’ concerns.
