Clare Farmers Facing Crisis Situation After Flooding On Lands

It’s claimed Farmers in Clare are facing a crisis after yesterday’s heavy rain led to floods on many lands.

Up to 40 millimetres of rain fell across the province yesterday, with roads and farmland in the east of the county badly hit by flood waters after rivers and streams burst their banks.

A yellow weather warning was lifted last night but further heavy showers are forecast for the early part of today.

Clare County Chairman of the ICMSA, Martin McMahon says it’s concerning, particularly in light of the threat of another fodder shortage:
