The Clare Branch of the ICMSA insists 30 cent per litre is the minimum price that should be expected by diary farmers.

The group is calling on processors and Co-ops to set the up-to-date price in light of an 3.5%  increase at the latest Global Dairy Trade Auction.

Chair of Clare ICMSA Martin McMahon says such a move would help ease the cash-flow pressures which many dairy farmers face after two difficult years in the market.

Mr. McMahon claims that while the market is showing signs of improving, milk suppliers still need help.
