A Clare farming representative is warning that “no job on the farm is worth a life”.
With Farm Safety Week 2025 running until Friday, those in the agriculture sector are being reminded of how to safeguard against the inherent dangers of their profession.
Originally launched by the UK’s Farm Safety Foundation, the week is coordinated by the Irish Farmers Association in Ireland and has over 400 partners across the two nations.
So far this year, 12 farming fatalities have occurred nationwide, with five of these involving vehicles while in nine cases, the deceased was over 65.
Clare has recorded one farm-related death to date in 2025.
