Clare fans travelling to Cork for this weekend’s All Ireland Hurling Quarter Final are being urged not to park near Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Traffic is expected to be extremely heavy on approach to the city as Cork hosts several other events this weekend too – so Gardaí are advising patrons to use city centre car parks.

With thousands of fans travelling from both counties, traffic is expected to be heavy both before and after the game.

To avoid congestion, Gardaí are asking Banner fans come via Mallow.
Though all eyes in Clare will be on Páirc Uí Chaoimh, the match isn’t the only event being held in Cork this weekend.

The city will also host the Munster Fleadh and an open-water swim on the River Lee as well as the usual summer tourist footfall, meaning parking spaces will be snapped up.

Inspector O’Sullivan is advising patrons to avoid parking near the stadium.

There’ll also be security checks – a cordon will be in place around Pairc Uí Chaoimh and bag searches will be carried out on approach.
