Clare experienced its wettest September since 2010 last month.

In a turbulent period that saw the wrath of Storm Agnes descend on the county, 113.8 millimetres of rainfall were recorded at Shannon’s weather station.

The figure is more than 50% higher than the Banner’s traditional long term average of 75.6mm.
