Clare Estate Agent Says Tax Breaks For Small Landlords Needed As Taoiseach Holds Housing Conference

A Clare estate agent insists tax breaks for small landlords should be top of the Government’s agenda to make inroads on the housing crisis.

It comes as Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Housing Minister Darragh O’ Brien will hold a conference in Leinster House today to try and find ways to speed up the delivery of the Housing For All plan.

A new survey from the Real Estate Alliance suggests the average price of a three-bed semi in Clare is now €230,000, though a slowdown in price increases locally is expected across 2023.

Speaking with Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville, Liam Browne of REA Paddy Browne & Co in Ennis still expects demand from first time buyers in particular to be high this year.
