A Clare environmentalist claims Ireland’s over use of data centres is causing an explosion in electricity demand.
It follows a new report from the SEAI , which shows Ireland’s energy emissions are at their lowest level in over 30 years.

While carbon emissions alone have dropped by 11% , since targets were introduced in 2021.
Ennis Green Party Representative Bridget Ginnity believes however that data centres could scupper this progress.
