2024 saw the lowest number of electric vehicles sold in Clare in three years.
Across last year, just 239 vehicles with an electric engine were sold in this county which was down 43% from the 2023 figure of 422, representing less than 10% of total sales here.

2021 was the last time fewer than 250 electric vehicles were sold in Clare with just 160 EV sales completed that year.
Director General of the Society of the Irish Motor Industry Brian Cooke however believes there are signs for hope.
