Clare has again seen a 50% increase in the number of monthly electric vehicles sold within the last year.
In February, 126 battery powered vehicles were sold in Clare, up from the 84 seen in the same month in 2024.

This represents the second increase in monthly EV sales to start the year, with 50% more electric cars also sold in January than last year.
Director General of the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, Brian Cooke, says electric vehicle sales are an outlier amongst general car registrations.
