Clare election candidate calls for extension of Breastcheck

Calls are being made for the national breast cancer screening program to be made available to younger women.

The government-funded Breastcheck program aims to reduce deaths from breast cancer by finding and treating the disease at an early stage.

It offers free mammograms to women, but is currently available for women aged from 50 to 64.

Barefield Independent Councillor and General Election candidate Ann Norton wants this expanded to women from the age of 35.
