The Shannon-based PRO of Active Retirement Ireland says elderly people in Clare are skipping meals, because they can’t afford to eat.
The cost of living has climbed amid the pademic, with many people reporting significant increases in heating bills, the cost of petrol or diesel and in their monthly rent.
Kay Murphy is calling for certainty from Government, saying the pandemic has led to many elderly people being afraid to leave their homes.
