A Clare man who’s older brother saved several lives through organ donation is imploring others to consider giving the gift of life.
When John Burns’ younger brother Patrick had a successful liver transplant in 1998, he estimates it extended his life by 19 years.

This inspired John’s older brother Robert to become an organ donor and his organs would go on to save three lives following his tragic death in 2018.
John was a keynote speaker at the recent 2025 National Organ Donation Conference in Galway and he’s been telling Clare FM’s Morning Focus that it’s hugely important.
