Clare Economist Expects Current Interest Rates To Stay For The Next Year At Least

A Clare Economist believes interest rates for mortgage holders and savers alike are not likely to change in the next year.

Inflation in the eurozone has now fallen to its lowest level in two years to 2.3% in November.

It follows ten consecutive interest rate hikes by the European Central Bank which were introduced in an effort to quell inflation by reducing personal discretionary spending power.

Ennis economist and Assistant Professor of Social Policy at UCD, Micheál Collins believes the monetary authority will be content with the current state of affairs.
