A Clare-based driving instructor insists third-party apps being used to skip the queue for a driving test are not a solution towards securing your full licence.
The Road Safety Authority has said it’s working to restrict access to it’s site, after it emerged that internet bots are being used to secure cancellation slots and sell them on to people waiting for a test.
There are now 81,000 people in the queue for a test across the country, with the average wait time now almost 6 months in Ennis, close to five months in Kilrush and just over 5 months in Shannon.
Those using third-party apps can nominate up to five centres, but Chris Curran of Chris Curran Coaching in Ennis is warning that people may not be adequately prepared for a test in an area they don’t know.
