A Clare driving instructor insists motorists deserve more clarity on how impending speed limit changes will be enforced.
From this Friday, the speed limit on local roads will be reduced from 80km/h to 60km/h.
Further planned changes, due to come into effect at a later date, will see the speed limit on national secondary roads reduced from 100km/h to 80km/h; while the speed limit in built-up areas, such as urban cores, town centres, and housing estates will be reduced from 50km/h to 30km/h.
In a statement to Clare FM, the Road Safety Authority says “enforcement is a matter for An Garda Síochana” and that an extensive advertising campaign in relation the speed limit changes is ongoing.
