Clare's county dog warden is urging people not to panic following the introduction of news laws on microchipping.

All dogs must be microchipped and registered under the new laws which have just come into force.
It also means that it will be illegal to pass a dog to another person, even if there's no payment, without the dog being chipped and registered.
It's hoped that the new laws will help re-unite strays with their owners and Frankie Coote says its an important step
