Clare Dog Warden Says Most Dog Attacks Never Get Reported

Clare’s Dog Warden says most dog bites or dog attacks never get reported.

It follows the introduction of new dog controlling regulations that will double on-the-spot fines to €300, to be signed off later today by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys.

Last year, there were 460 hospitalisations following dog attacks in Ireland with 49 people suffering injuries or damages to their clothing in dog attacks in Clare alone, the highest in the country.

County Dog Warden, Frankie Coote says there are many more dog attacks than those officially recorded.
