Clare’s County Dog Warden is advising dog owners here to leave their pets at home if visiting a tourist hotspot this weekend.
Temperatures are expected to reach 20 degrees in the coming days, with many people opting to take dogs with them if going on a trip to the beach or a walking spot.

However, concerns have been raised that dogs can become seriously ill or worse if left in warm cars for any length of time.
County Dog Warden Frankie Coote says opening a window or leaving water in a car with a dog isn’t enough.
