Clare’s Dog Shelter is said to have become inundated with surrenders of stray dogs this month.
According to the county dog warden, over 50 dogs have either been found abandoned or handed in to its service.

Some of the dogs secured already this month have been involved in sheep kills and other violent incidents after they were dumped on private property.
Clare County Dog Warden Frankie Coote says they’re struggling to cope with the surge in demand.
