Dog owners in Clare are being urged to get their pets microchipped ahead of the Halloween period.
It’s a time when dogs can go missing, with many running away from fireworks and bangers and getting lost then.

Microchipping has been compulsory for all dogs over 12 weeks of age since 2015; while dog licences are also a legal requirement for dog owners.
Clare County Dog Warden Frankie Coote says if pet owners obey these two simple rules, it will be easy to reunite them with their four-legged friend:
