Clare Disability Activist Calls For New Focus Amid Scrapping Of Green Paper

The Clare Leader Forum is calling for an urgent focus on supports to help the disabled community participate in the workplace.

It comes as the Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphries announced the Government’s Green Paper On Disability Reform would be scrapped following intense backlash from campaigners.

The scheme had initially proposed a three-tier system whereby those with disabilities would receive a weekly payment of €220 to €265 depending on their level of needs.
