A Clare Disability activist insists people with disabilities feel institutionalised in their homes.

It comes as Independent Living Movement Ireland is campaigning for legislation to provide the right for someone with a disability to access personal assistant services.

Member of Clare Leader Forum, Ann Marie Flanagan, says the current service is deteriorating and says people with disabilities availing of the service describe it as “glorified home help”

She says people feel trapped in their homes and is calling on everyone to lobby our government representatives to support this campaign.
