A prominent Clare disabilities campaigner is welcoming what he calls the first step in recognising the rights of disabled people.
Minister for Disabilities Finian McGrath is today submiting draft legislation which is a significant milestone in the process for ratifying the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities.

The convention would enshrine the rights of those living with disabilities in the constitution for the first time.
