Clare Developer Calls For Concrete Levy To Be Scrapped

A Clare developer believes the concrete levy should be scrapped as it will be a barrier to building homes.

It comes as the government has confirmed that precast concrete ready-mix will be included in the new concrete levy.

The controversial tax, which was conceived to fund the mica redress scheme, was initially supposed to be implemented as part of Budget 2023 but was deferred and reduced from 10% to 5% due to significant backlash.
