Clare developer Bernard McNamara has defended work carried out by one of his companies at the Longboat Quay apartment complex in Dublin, where residents have been threatened with evacuation.

Owners of the 300 apartments at Longboat Quay face a multi-million euro bill to carry out fire safety upgrade works, or face having to leave their homes.
A spokesperson for the Lisdoonvarna native has told The Sunday Times that many of the problems arose from wear and tear, and that "many of the public statements" made in repect of Longboat Quay are "plain wrong."
McNamara has written to Longboat Quay residents offering to carry out work at cost price.
