These CSO figures compare the months of April, May and June of this year with the same period in 2019, and cover most of the lockdown period.

The number of sexual offences dropped by nearly half, from 19 to ten.

Criminal damage offences dropped by a fifth.

The number of recorded burglaries halved, to 26, while thefts were down by over a third to 138.

Public order offences fell by a similar amount.

There was an increase in drugs offences, however, with most of this relating to the number of people caught possessing drugs for personal use.

That figure increased from 64 to 99, while the number of people caught with drugs for sale and supply increased by four to 24.
