Clare’s County Dog Warden is warning that officers will be in place on the county’s beaches later this week to ensure pet owners are adhering to beach bye-laws.
It’s prohibited to bring a dog onto a beach between the hours of 11am and 6pm during the summer season and dogs must be kept under control outside of those hours.

Guide dogs for the blind and dogs kept by An Garda Síochána and under the control of a member of the force are the only exemptions.
The beach bye-laws come into force on Thursday and Clare County Dog Warden, Frankie Coote says the regulations are welcome.
