Relief In Westbury As Council Clarifies Position On Green Area

Confirmation that a green area in Clare’s largest residential estate cannot be developed has received a broad welcome.

The green in the Westbury estate caused public outcry in recent weeks, when development began on the green there after it was acquired by new owners.

Clare County Council has now visited the site and determined that the ‘open space’ zoning prohibits the fencing off of ground, grazing by livestock and any other agricultural activity.
