Clare County Council has given the green light to plans for a multi-million euro upgrade of Trump International Doonbeg.
The five-star resort has received planning permission to construct a new ballroom and 53 new units for short-term tourist accomodation, as well as other associated works which include a restaurant and leisure facilities.
The overall cost has previously been estimated at 40 million euro.

The Council has given the go-ahead, subject to 19 conditions, while their decision is open to appeal.
