The Mayor of Clare has announced he’s donating his Christmas Card Allowance to five local organisations and charities.
Councillor Cathal Crowe will donate €200 euro each to Sláinte an Chláir, Clare Cancer Support, the Clare Branch of the Irish Red Cross, Clare Haven, Clare Crusaders, Samaritan’s Ennis and Clare Branch.
Councillor Crowe says many of these organisations rely heavily on fundraising and that volunteerism is also an integral part of their respective operations.

He says he hopes the donations will help each of them with their ongoing fundraising efforts and delivery of vital community services.
