An Ennis Councillor claims plans for a temporary car park on Francis Street are a ‘waste of public money’.
Elected representatives voted by a margin of 4 to 3 this week to install a car park for a period of four years at the site near glór under the Ennis 2040 plan, with a permanent office development to be erected thereafter.
Those against the plan claim car parking spaces at Abbey Street should be maintained, instead of converting the facility to a mixed retail and office development.

Ennis-based Fine Gael Councillor Johnny Flynn is hopeful the proposal may be overturned at a full meeting of Clare Councillors next week.
