Almost three million euro in Government funding has been announced for Clare County Council.

The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien has earmarked 2.8 million euro for the local authority as part of Budget 2022.

The funding aims to make up for the sharp loss in commercial rates revenue accrued from Moneypoint.

Confirming the funding, Clare’s Fine Gael TD Joe Carey says the money will ensure that vital services delivered by the local authority can continue, as we emerge from the pandemic.
