County Library Construction Due To Resume Within Months

Building works on the new county library project will resume in the first months of 2021.

Construction of the new facility, which will be built alongside Glor in Ennis, began early this year but have been halted since the contractor, Keating Construction, entered examinership.

This resulted in the contract being terminated and now a new contractor is being sought under a fresh tendering process.

The Council has set aside €5 million to fund the works next year, and expects building to resume in the second quarter, and for the building to be completed in 2022.

Council CEO Pat Dowling says they’re committed to making a success of the new county library.
