Clare County Council is hopeful the prohibition order on swimming in White Strand Miltown Malbay could be lifted as soon as today.
The local authority issued the notice on Tuesday after consultation with the HSE, following e.coli bacteria being identified in the beach’s bathing water.
It’s believed the problem occurred as a result of recent rainfall levels in the West Clare area.
