Council Considering Bye Laws For Dog Control Amid Attack Increase Concerns

Clare County Council is to consider implementing new bye laws in an attempt to reduce the number of dog attacks happening across the county.

It follows concerns expressed by elected representatives at the Council’s monthly meeting last evening, with calls for extendable leads to be banned locally and to have dangerous breeds muzzled.

The local authority says it will examine “whatever action is needed” to tackle the issue, as the Government continues to plan for a working group to be set up nationally to look at the problem.
