Clare County Council has been called on to address plans for the long term parking needs of Ennistymon.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane Talty brought the motion to this weeks meeting of the West Clare Municipal District in light of planned rejuvenation works in the town which could see up to 16 parking spaces being lost around main street.

Clare County Council has lodged a planning permission for the expansion of pedestrian areas to include street furniture, new public lighting on decorative columns and a new pedestrian crossing.
